The iconic Cape Fear Memorial Bridge has been a sight to behold for decades for people crossing the Cape Fear River to and from Wilmington, NC. For this piece, I wanted to focus on the structure itself. That’s why I omitted much of the water and sky from the painting, while given enough context to root the bridge to its environment. Some have remarked that this is a more moody painting that I typically do. That might be true.
